He was born with Biliary Atresia
A blockage in the tubes (ducts) that carry a liquid called bile from the liver to the gallbladder. The condition is congenital, which means it is present from birth. Newborns with this condition may appear normal at birth. However, jaundice (a yellow color to the skin and mucous membranes) develops by the second or third week of life. The infant may gain weight normally for the first month, but then will lose weight and become irritable, and have worsening jaundice.
It is very difficult to get a cadaver organ for an infant, so the choice was simple when it was apparent that the donor list wasn’t going to work for Evan. He needed a transplant, and I was the only blood match outside of the mother being O+. The rest is history, and you can follow the procedure from what I went through on the main navigation of this site. I will post updates as I have time, and new photo’s of the little guy.

I’m living each day like normal. I spend most of my time working out or experimenting with electronics and woodworking, pulling things apart to see how they work. This website is one of those small projects!
